Policies and Practices
Employment with our firm is based wholly on qualifications, competence, and effort without regard for race, creed, color, sex, age, national origin, handicap, religion or veteran status. Dellinger, Inc. is an at-will employer. At-will means that both employees and Dellinger, Inc. have the right to terminate employment at any time, with or without advance notice, and with or without cause.
Our pay period runs from Sunday through Saturday with payday on Friday of the following week. Draws or advances are against company policy and should not be requested. Normal working hours will be in accordance with your superintendent's instructions. Supervisors will inform employees of scheduled break and/or lunch periods. Employees are expected back at their work site ready to start work at the end of each scheduled break and/or lunch period.
All employees are expected to furnish their own transportation to and from the job. When there is available space in a company vehicle traveling to a job, employees may request permission to ride or drive, however, travel time to and/or from the job site is not considered as time at work and therefore is not time for which employees will be paid.
Your honesty, appearance, behavior and performance reflect this company's image to our customers. The following are examples of rules that are necessary for the mutual protection of all employees and violation will result in immediate termination:
- The use of alcohol or illegal drugs on the job or previous to reporting to work is strictly prohibited. All employees are required to undergo substance testing as required by the Dellinger, Inc. Substance Abuse Policy.
- All employees must adhere to the Dellinger, Inc. Substance Abuse Policy.
- Abusive language or disrespectful behavior in public occupied areas will not be permitted.
- Abuse or violation of the company Safety Policy will not be tolerated.
- Stealing, destruction, or willful abuse of company property is unlawful. Fighting or horse-play on the job will not be tolerated.
- Dellinger, Inc. will be the primary employer of all employees. If a decrease in work performance is noted, Dellinger, Inc., will require a resignation or approval of any secondary employment (moonlighting) or business.
- Personal use of company tools, materials, or vehicles is prohibited.
We are merit shop, (no craft jurisdiction), and encourage everyone to learn and perform all tasks. We will provide training and education whenever possible to develop your talents. Our success as a company is built on the recognition of the skills and efforts made by each employee. It is our policy to work with all members of our team in a fair and friendly manner and to treat each team member with dignity and respect.
Employees who work in certain trade positions may be required to provide their own tools to perform job assignments. The supervisor will advise employees of the tools required and will make sure that each employee obtains the required tools.
The company will furnish all necessary power tools and equipment to complete job assignments. Each employee is reminded that all items purchased by the company are the property of Dellinger, Inc. and represent a very valuable asset of the company. It is the responsibility of the employee to whom tools and equipment are assigned to maintain and safeguard these assets.
When leaving a work area, it is required that all tools be placed back in designated storage areas or removed from the work area and secured in locked storage where available.
After 90 days of employment, Group Health and Life Insurance benefits will be available at no cost to all full time employees who have completed and returned all application forms to the Monroe office. Group Health and Life Insurance for dependents is available at cost if desired through payroll deduction. Disability coverage may also be elected at this time. (Employees only - no dependent coverages). Short-Term Disability is available at cost. Dellinger, Inc. will pay one-half of cost for Long-Term coverage if elected. (Dellinger, Inc. is not responsible for insurance coverage if you or your dependents are uninsurable).
After 12 months of continuous service all full time employees are eligible for:
- Paid Vacation (1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years)
- Dependent Care & Medical Reimbursement Plan (Sect. 125)
- Dellinger, Inc. 401K Retirement and Profit-Sharing Plan.
Hourly employees and jobsite supervisors are eligible for job incentive payments on profitable jobs based on improvements in productivity. Supervisory, administrative, shop & office personnel are eligible for a yearly bonus based on profits from company operations.
In an effort to assure maximum safety of each individual employee, all company operations are conducted in conformity with OSHA and the Dellinger, Inc. Safety Program.
All applicants must pass a Rapid-Screen drug test prior to employment with Dellinger, Inc. All employees are subject to alcohol/drug testing during employment with Dellinger, Inc. per the Dellinger, Inc. Substance Abuse Policy.
As an employee of Dellinger, Inc., your efforts and abilities will determine your personal advancement, and job security will be determined by your efforts and ability. We expect all employees to be treated fairly and be properly paid. If you are dissatisfied, please discuss it ONLY with your Supervisor, or request that he accompany you to resolve it with his superior. We plan to continue our growth in the construction industry and hope that you will grow with us.
